Storby ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the Storby mobile application, whether as a customer browsing local clothing stores or as a store owner listing products. By using Storby, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
01Who This Policy Applies To
This policy covers two types of users:
- Customers — users who browse stores and products without creating an account.
- Store Owners — businesses or individuals who register on Storby to list and manage their store and products.
02Information We Collect
2.1 Customers
Customers are not required to create an account to use Storby. We do not collect personally identifiable information from customers. Instead, we use the following to personalise and save your in-app experience:
- Device Identifier — a unique ID generated from your phone, used solely to identify your session and restore your saved data across app restarts.
- Local Storage — data such as saved items (your bag), browsing preferences, and app progress is stored directly on your device. This data does not leave your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Customers can clear their saved data at any time by clearing the app's local storage from their device settings.
2.2 Store Owners
Store owners are required to create an account. During registration and profile setup, we collect the following information:
- Full name
- Email address (via email sign-in, Google, or Apple/iPhone sign-in)
- Store name
- Physical address
- Google Maps link to the store location
- Store specialty or category
- Country of operation (currently Morocco only)
Store owners may also upload product images and descriptions as part of their store listings.
03How We Use Your Information
- To operate and maintain the Storby platform.
- To display store profiles and product listings to customers.
- To enable store owners to manage and update their listings.
- To restore and persist customer preferences using device-based local storage.
- To authenticate store owner accounts securely.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
04Authentication & Third-Party Sign-In
Store owners may sign in using one of the following methods:
- Email and password
- Google Sign-In
- Apple Sign-In (iPhone)
When you use a third-party sign-in method, we receive only the basic profile information authorised by that service (typically your name and email address). We do not receive or store your passwords for these services. Your use of these sign-in methods is also governed by the respective privacy policies of Google and Apple.
05Data Storage & Security
- Customer data is stored locally on the user's device and is not transmitted to Storby's servers.
- Store owner account data is stored securely on our servers with access restricted to authorised personnel.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
06Data Retention
- Customer local data persists until the user clears their app data or uninstalls the application.
- Store owner account data is retained for as long as the account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data will be removed from our systems within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
07Your Rights
As a store owner, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion of your account and associated data.
Our service provides you with a "settings" option to exercise any of the rights above. You may also contact us to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that you provided to us.
08Children's Privacy
Storby is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
09Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this document. We encourage store owners to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Storby after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
